Wubby Update

We had so many folks looking for the wubby! Mission Accomplished! Grandma Sharon found a store in south Texas that had 2! They are on the way to our house as we speak. If anyone else in interested in a wubby (I swear it is the softest thing ever) the brand name is Bearington Bear. Noah is a fan of "Wee Peanut." It is the Blue Elephant. They have a Wee Frog, and Wee Lamb and I think a pink one. A lot of Hallmark stores carry them, but for some reason, the elephant has proven to be difficult to find. Now Noah has one for home, one for school and one for the car. Perfect. Thank you D'Dawn and Clay for the original Wubby, and thank you to Grandma Sharon for making sure he is never without one.

I wanted to get Noah's picture with these PJs on because they are about the only piece of Hope's clothing that he has been able to wear. I am learning why it is a good thing to buy gender neutral items!

At least someone in our house wants to cook!

Bless her heart. She thinks Mommies and their little girls are supposed to bake cookies together. When I asked her what she wanted me to play with her, her answer was "I have a great idea! We can make cookies! And I can put sprinkles on them!" Great. While we did have sprinkles in the house, that was it as far as cookie making supplies. I tried to talk her into making biscuits instead, she said no. Can't blame her. So off we went to the store. I would love to tell you that we made these from scratch, or even from a mix. Nope. These are the fabulous break apart cookie dough. The Sugar Cookie variety. She couldn't have been any more proud of them though! And, they were yummy!

A Fun Day With Sister

Hope had her first real playdate today with "Sister." If you have been keeping up with this blog, you have already heard about "sister." Sister is Hope's bestie, LJ. They were in the same class at school last year, and they started telling everyone that they were twins. Sister has beautiful dark dark hair and eyes, which makes it very funny. They are also concerned that we might not be able to tell them apart. Anyway they call eachother sister and they love eachother so much. (Wow, this is probably really confussing because I also refer to Hope as Sister on this blog. For this post only, sister refers to LJ! sorry) Sister's daddy is running for office and is campaigning right now and has asked us if sister can come play with us on Saturdays until the election is over. It will be so fun to spend some quality time with sister. She is precious. I don't like to post pictures of other peoples kiddos w/o permission, so pics are limited. After the rain cleared out, we headed to the zoo. Perfect zoo weather today!

Hope doesn't ask to hold Noah as much as she used to, but sister wanted to hold him today, so of course, so did Hope.

And speaking of holding, Noah is working really hard at holding his bottle all by himself!

Wanted: A New Wubby

Meet Noah's Wubby. He "wubs" his wubby very much. Noah's Mommy is notorious for losing things. Not a good combination. When we realized that Hope was very much attached to her Ooh Ooh early on, we went out and got another...and another. I have lost one of the 3 of her Ooh Oohs, so I can tell you this was a wise decision. Back to the wubby. We need some back up wubbys. Noah's mommy is liking this wubby because it is small, soft and doesn't rattle. A hard combination to find in a lovie blanket. Problem, these are not easy to find. The original came from D'Dawn and Clay and she gave me some places to look. So far, no luck. I went to the mall, and to every Hallmark around here. No wubbys. These pictures are for Heather, who is going to go check out the Maumelle Hallmark tomorrow. Because she loves him. And because she knows how Noah's mommy looses things. Wish her luck! Thanks Aunt Heather!

Noah is 5 months old, and sister might be just a little jealous!

So, I am a few days late on the 5 month pictures, sorry! I put Noah on the blanket and asked Hope to go find "pretend Noah" and "The Bear" while I found the camera and memory card. I came back to find them all posed for the picture...+ 1 very cute little girl smack dab in the middle. She was not going to move until I took her picture too. So here it is.

She agreed to help me try to get him to smile (unsuccessful, oh well.)She became more and MORE help as I kept taking pictures.I gave in and let her back into the pictures.

She does love that brother. I have no new Noah stats because we haven't had any Dr. appointments since his 4 month visit, but I can tell you he is bigger. He is a fairly mellow baby at home. When he wakes up in the morning, he is so super smiley. I just love it. It is hard for me to tear myself away from the fun to go take a shower and get ready. Hope talks to him and he just giggles. Definitely the best part of the day. He will still hang out in the swing for a little while, but the mobile is not as entertaining as it once was! He likes to be in the excersaucer and to roll around on the floor. He drools like no other baby I have ever seen. Still no teeth, but loads of drool. This makes for some great rasberries! He also plays a little game we like to call "suck face." If you kiss his cheek, he "kisses" your cheek right back. He actually sucks your cheek really hard. Once he gets going he is hard to stop! Here is a picture of a recent game of "suck face."

He still suffers from "his condition." Don't be alarmed, "His Condition" refers to his need to be held a lot. It has been greatly improved, probably by him going to school. His teachers say they can tell when I have been at home holding him all weekend. I am guilty as charged! His teachers really seem to love him anyway, despite the condition. They are actually able to get him to nap in his bed for long stretches of time. Impressive for sure. Speaking of sleep, Noah has slept through the night once in his whole life. He still wakes up every three hours on the dot. Any suggestions? We are going to try feeding him bananas tonight thanks to William's mommy's suggestion. I honestly don't think he is hungry when he wakes up because as soon as I start to feed him, he goes right back to sleep, but maybe if the bananas stick around a little longer he will stay asleep a little longer. If he would just wake up once per night, I would be perfectly happy. It's the multiple times that kill me. He is pretty worth it though. He recognizes us now which is so much fun. He is still a mama's boy, but he thinks his daddy is just hilarious. John can just look at him and he giggles. This age is so much fun!

Not Me

"Not Me Monday"
A fellow blogger mama at http://www.mycharmingkids.net/ started this fun post for everyone to try where you list all your "I did nots" (wink, wink) from the week before. Here are a few of mine, just from today.
  • I am not posting this on Tuesday because I was too busy looking up people on Facebook on Monday.
  • I did not forget that I let the dog out this morning and leave her outside for too long. And the dog did not dig a hole under the fence, and she did not run away. Coincidentally, I did not ruin my new shoes while chasing after her in the wet grass at 8 a.m.
  • I did not eat a dinner consisting of chips, salsa and popcorn tonight.
  • I did not bump Noah's noggin on the door frame while coming inside this evening.
  • I certainly did not forget about Hope's homework again.
  • I also did not NOT go to Disciple Bible study tonight because I haven't read my lesson, or because I am a little overwhelmed with everything right now and just wanted to be at home with my babies.
  • I did not set off the house alarm just now by trying to let the dog outside.
  • I did not put cereal in Noah's bottle before he went to bed in hopes that he will sleep for more than 3 hours at a time. That would be wrong!
  • Speaking of Noah, I did not accidentally pour out 5 ounces of breast milk at his school today. That would really be dumb.
  • I did not forget to mail a package to April that has been in my car for MIC for about 3 weeks.
  • I am also not dying to tell everyone that April is pregnant, therefore expecting 2 babies in 2009. That's right, baby MIC (Made in China) is going to be a little/big sister when she arrives!
  • I am not about to get on Facebook again before I go to bed. No way.
  • I also did not tell Hope she could sleep in my bed tonight after we have worked so hard at getting her back in her bed. She is absolutely not sleeping in there right now.

Ross Is Home For Good!

Ross is home from Iraq, home from debriefing, home for good! We celebrated with a family cookout today at Jennifer and Wes's. It was a fun day and I took lots of pictures. So much happened though, that I am going to divide up the posts. Among other things, there was a fashion show, sit up and crawling lessons for Noah, reminiscing about how mean my brothers were to me, another discussion about who ruined the Lazy Boy when we were little (including some new theories), a fire, a snake, good food, and golf in the front yard. Welcome home little brother!

Supermodels?

Hope and Clara love to put on Fashion Shows. Julia is an excellent stylist. They came down dressed up and with make up on. This time, however, Julia also took a moment to teach them how to pucker up like a supermodel. Hope took this lesson very seriously. These are the funniest pictures to me. John and I have been laughing so hard flipping through these. I have not laughed that hard in a long time. Clara seems to be more on the track to supermodel with a new expression in each picture. Hope is a little (or a lot) on the Zoolander side of modeling!

Crawling Lessons With Julia

Cousin Julia gave Noah some crawling lessons today. He was cooperating at first, but as you can see, in the end he gave up and just buried his head in the carpet. Poor Baby.

Riley Kaye

I love this girl. It is hard to catch this girl for a picture, though. After I had taken a bunch of pictures today, I said "I have got to get some pictures of Riley." Because I just don't have as many of her. I found her outside (surprise :-) and explained that I needed more pictures of her because I have so many of her sisters but not of her for some reason. She said "That's because my sisters want to be famous." Riley is for sure her own person. She loves those sisters for sure, but she does her own thing too. You can usually find her outside, climbing a tree, talking to her horses, heading to her clubhouse, playing basketball, or riding her bike. Riley also has the best belly laugh ever. I can hear it when I look at the last picture!

Wade

Meet my one and only nephew Wade. He is not a fan of the camera, but I made him, I mean asked nicely if he would let me, take a few pictures. Wade is a smart boy who can make you laugh. If you want to learn some facts, he's the guy to go to. He is becoming a little bit of a prankster, which is no surprise if you know his dad, Vince. He looks so much like Vince, it's a little scary. It's like looking at my big brother 20 years ago. He is a fun guy who cares about everyone. Love him to pieces.

Sitting Up?

Not quite! (Not even close, actually.) Nenny sat Noah up between two pillows today. Then we all watched as he slowly sank to the floor and did a face plant (I of course took pictures.) Where is that Therapy Jar? Surely we need to put another dollar in there!
