The Incredible Shrinking Bear

One Month
Two Months
3 Months

3 Months old (and feeling crummy)

Noah has not been feeling well yesterday and today. He has run a little fever, and been super fussy. I took him to the Dr. today, and it looks like just a little virus. He perked up a little this afternoon after a dose of Tylenol, so I took that opportunity to take his picture.

This was his first time in the Bumbo seat. He did pretty well! I think Dr. Laura will be impressed with how much better he is doing holding his head up now! He just needed a little extra time...

And here are the bear and baby photos for the month. The bear is really shrinking! And can anyone tell me why Noah is always "punching" his fist? He weighed 11 lbs 9 oz. today.

A Girl and her Monkey

John asked me to take Hope's picture while she was sleeping the other night. (He loves to watch them sleep almost as much as I do.) She was all snuggled up with her Ooh Ooh in my bed.
Speaking of Ooh Ooh, this is a conversation Hope and I had this morning:
Hope was trying to sneak out the door with Ooh Ooh. She is well aware that the new rule is that Ooh Ooh has to stay at home (we have left him at a few different places lately.)
Mommy: Hope, Ooh Ooh has to stay at home today.
Hope: No, he will be sad if I leave him.
M: Oh no, he and Abby (our dog) will play together today.
H: No, Abby will eat Ooh Ooh.
M: No she won't. Ooh Ooh and Abby are friends.
H: Mommy, you just don't know what you're talking about.
She's 3, and already thinks she's smarter than her mommy. We did have a little talk about that!

Sweet Baby Noah

Noah Loves Mommy

Just a few more

Last of the reminiscing! The first is one of my very favorite pictures of the baby Hope. The next two are from the first time we met Austin!

And I couldn't resist adding this one of Wolffe, Clay and Brandon. Can you believe they are going to be 1st graders?! I believe we were at Michele and Wolffe's house celebrating Valentines Day and Vietnamese New Year in 2005. Am I right Michele?

We interupt this blog....

To bring you some pics from the past.

Surely by now you know how I like to reminisce. We had the Geek Squ@d folks pull off all of our pictures that were on our old broken computer. As I am going through them, there are some I want to share!

These are of Krista and Kayla just a few days before we moved to Texas. They were our neighbors in our very first house. Their dad, Ryan, and I have been friends since junior high. We ate at Chili's with them all last Friday and the girls are so big! They are 2 and 1/2 now! I think they should still be this size! And look at what a baby Hope was when we moved! She was 19 months old.
This makes me laugh:) This is the first picture of John and I together. We were at Ozark Mission Project in June of 2000.

And now, for those of you who don't think Noah looks anything like Hope, here are some pictures of Hope areound the same age as Noah is now...

Sorry folks, they look exactly alike except for the hair and Noah's birthmark!

Our "Girls" Trip (Plus Noah!)

We just got back from a fun trip to Branson. It was just the girls and Noah. For those of you who don't know...there is no one in the world who loves Branson like we do. My parents went their on there Honeymoon, and took us there every year when we were growing up.
We had a great time. The kiddos were all really good. Even Noah. He hardly made a noise the whole time we were there. He really loves to be outside. Hope was on cloud 9 the whole trip. She loves to be with "the cousins." It was really fun to get away and to spend time with my mom, my sister and her girls. We all laughed a lot. Here are a couple of good quotes from the trip:
  • Riley to Clara said "You are annoying." To which Clara replied "I am not. And I don't know what annoying means."
  • Hope as we were driving down "the strip" in Branson "There are so many things to see!"
  • While talking to Ross on the phone at Silver Dollar City. I said "Do you want me to get you a pop gun while we are here?" He said "Nah, I will either break it or dad will hide it from me." (Ross always had to have a pop gun every year we went to SDC when we were little.)

Some of my other favorite times were:

  • Getting soaked on the toboggan with Riley and Julia
  • Clara and Hope walking with their new umbrellas
  • The picture of us on the log ride. Clara was scared out of her mind, and Julia, who had just remembered that they take your picture as you go down, was sitting up so straight and perfect with her most perfect smile.
  • My mom somehow snuck back to the pottery place and bought me a mug that I wanted so badly (Thanks mom!)
  • Noah laughed out loud, at 2 in the morning, in his sleep!
  • The search for the chocolate covered pretzels that somehow have disappeared (fess up now!)

I don't have many pictures from the trip. I will have to get a disc from Mimi for more!

This is all the girls going to give dry Nenny a hug after they had gotten soaked at the water play area.

Noah's Baptism

Today was a very special day. Noah Red was welcomed into the family of God through the sacrament of baptism. It was a beautiful reminder of God's amazing grace.

Hope wore this gown when she was baptized on January 9, 2005. We have had their names and baptism dates embroidered on the slip of the gown.

The celebration continued afterwards with family and friends at Jenn and Wes's house. Wes and Jennifer are both Hope and Noah's Godparents. All of Noah's grandparents were there, including Grandma Sharon! We were missing a few family members, especially Uncle Ross, but we really enjoyed all who were there!

Aunt Frankee surprised us all when she showed up from West Memphis!

Thank you, God for Noah Red.

I think he was relieved to get the frilly gown off! I love this picture of him with his Nenny.

Hope and Clara decided the best thing to do at a Baptism party was to take a bubble bath! Oh, to be 3 again!
